Shadia is a Palestinian Christian, author and speaker from Nazareth (the town where Jesus grew up).
She describes herself as a lived theologian, someone whose understanding of God has been shaped not only through study but also by the realities of everyday life. For more than 15 years, she has worked in peacebuilding, justice advocacy, and public speaking, helping people engage thoughtfully with questions of faith, conflict, reconciliation, and community.
Her journey has taken her from studying at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem to exploring Indigenous theologies here in Canada. She is passionate about helping people read Scripture through the eyes of those on the margins and creating spaces where we can listen deeply across difference with humility, compassion, and grace.
This Sunday, Shadia will share from both Scripture and her own experience. We are grateful she is with us, and I know her insights will both encourage and challenge us.
