Justin was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, after his parents immigrated to North America as part of the larger influx of Hong Kong immigrants across the Pacific in the 1970s-1990s. As a result, he grew up with a dual and liminal identity as an Asian Canadian. One of the most important arenas this happened was in church, where many role models and friends helped raise him to care for others, consider spiritual things, and value relationships. In his early 20’s, he joined the Anabaptist world, attending Columbia Bible College, after spending his post-high school years bouncing between jobs and schools. At CBC, he grew to understand how his story was deeply woven into the larger fabric of YHWH’s story and now hopes to express that in pastoral ministry, working towards reconciliation, liberation, and justice by the power and in the name of Jesus.
Justin also works for Richmond Peace Chinese Mennonite Church.
